The Azores (São Miguel)
São Miguel is the largest island of the Azores, halfway between Europe and North America. It is intensely green, with volcanic crater lakes, tea plantations, thermal pools and dairy pastures running down to the sea. Ponta Delgada is a small, friendly city, and the rest of the island is a short drive away.
